Yew Chung Yew Wah Education Network (YCYW) marked a momentous occasion in celebration of its 90th anniversary with a Gala held at the Kempinski Hotel in Beijing on 10 June 2023 with nearly 300 guests gathered to bear witness to this historic milestone moment.

Founded in 1932 by Madam Tsang Chor-hang, YCYW has long been a pioneer in education that urges parents and members of society to contribute their efforts to education, recognising it as a vital path towards national rejuvenation. Throughout the evening, the essence of YCYW's mission resonated profoundly, embracing the alignment with Science and Technology, Culture and Arts, and Love and Charity.

Immersed in a tapestry of historical richness, the event saw a re-creation of a nostalgic ambiance of the 1930s which coincided with YCYW’s remarkable journey into the realm of international education. As the curtains lifted, a mesmerising display of a high-tech starry sky took centre stage, igniting the boundless imagination and underscoring YCYW's unwavering commitment to technological innovation. Leading the way, YCYW's beloved mascot "Yew Yew" introduced the inspiring address delivered by Dr Betty Chan Po-king, CEO and supervisor of Yew Chung Yew Wah Education Network, shedding light on YCYW's tireless pursuit of excellence and its future horizons.

The student and parent performances were the highlights of the entire evening, showcasing a magnificent display of the diverse talents and creativity of the Yew Chung Yew Wah students, while also highlighting the unwavering support of parents towards arts education. The rhythmic movements of the dancers, and the exquisite melodies from the musicians infused the air with enchantment, pushing the atmosphere to new heights.

Furthermore, in a remarkable display of social responsibility and commitment to public welfare, a special auction took centre stage during the celebration. A diverse array of invaluable items and services and went under the hammer with the proceeds earmarked to provide invaluable support to YCYW‘s Seeds of Hope Annual Fund.  The Annual Fund plays a pivotal role in empowering local community service-learning projects, special scholarship programmes, and various student-led initiatives. The guests enthusiastically engaged in the bidding process, and making generous contributions that collectively enhanced the fabric of the society. The whole festive atmosphere was brimming with harmony and joy, underscoring the profound bond and collaborative efforts shared among YCYW students, parents, alumni, and the wider community.

The 90th anniversary celebration of Yew Chung Yew Wah Education Network stands as a distinctive milestone, symbolising its remarkable journey of resilience and continuous advancement over the past nine decades.
